Welcome to Machinepop, if you are looking for the artist machine pop, he/she/it can be found here. For the rest of us, this is the home of Machine Pop Records. Thanks for calling by.
This month we are in the middle of physical distribution of "Tunnels" by The Avenue Falls Into Dusk, and the final mixes and mastering of "The Boy From Turpentine Wood" by Limpet.
Meanwhile we've decided "I'll Be Home By Six!" the debut album from Slot Car Racers has run it's course as a "for sale" item. We're becoming less and less sure that selling-music-for-people-to listen-to is a viable way forward anyway. Clearly in the future there will be lots of ways of making a living, but selling CD's to people doesnt seem to be one of them. So giving music away for personal consumption seems just fine by us. Watch out soon for an announcement of where you can start to get our artists back-catalogue for free. We'll be looking at licensing our catalogue for film and TV going forward so dont worry we dont intend to starve. We're also considering making 24-bit DVD Audio quality releases for all you HiFi buff's out there. These would be pretty much hand-made items so we'd have to charge for these....no ideas yet how, when or what they might cost...
For those of you wondering Machine Pop Records is a very small record company based on the Mornington Penninsula, near Melbourne Australia. As you can see above we're working on our business model as we go, call in often to see us make mistakes and stuff...
In any case thanks for dropping by and please feel free to explore.
Regards
The Machinists
